I wanted a belt grinder for making knives but I’da been out 4 grand by the time I bought one ($1800 or so) sent it here for the shakedown at customs and paid the shipping to boot !
Sooooooooooooooooo. I dont use my table saw much these daze since my house, cabins, furnishings and stuff are completed. 1.5 horse 3450, nice flat cat iron table. Drilled and tapped on both sides for the fence setup.Conveniently placed switch.Gravity motor mount. 6 bolts off fence and six bolts on ? Table saw in less than five minutes, 1.5×50 belt driven contact wheel. Smokin fast.3”x 96” 16” driven by a 3 inch driver ( freewheel contact wheel). Nice and slow,12” disk. Going to thread the front axle for a 10 inch buffer setup and the rear for a big wire wheel. What the hell. Um yes.Yup. Six machines, one motor in one square meter !
That’s junk lumber. Rosewood.! A branch broke off in a storm a couple of years back.

It needs a sign. I was thinking no loose fitting clothes or jewelry but maybe it should just say, “stay back, 10’ minimum clearance”.

It has a special switch on it. You breath into and if you’re not stumbling drunk it wont turn on. ;-)
At first I ran that 3×100 using the contact as a driver. If that belt broke at that speed it’d rip the roof off my house ( or my head off).
With the 5 to 1 reduction using a 3 inch driver it’s pretty tame.
