Mom just passed along this tool which i found the photo of and it’s a miller falls McCoy’s three-jaw chuck…found the exact photo of it online and it has the markings on the drill part that say September 29, 1896.

so now what ? is it worth anything to sell ? how does one go about selling stuff like this ?

I’ve got old hand meat grinders that dad made bookends out of for me (with my cookbooks in between) but I can’t see a need to keep this thing just to hang it on a wall.

I’m in NJ so suggestions and ideas are most welcome.
thanks

So do you have the whole drill or just the chuck? I don’t beleive they are worth a lot, but many of us still use egg beater type drills.

Post a few pictures of yours.

Use it. This is a hand tool forum isn’t it? Great little hand drill!

When you drill a hole, what do you use?

sorry . not my thing ..not sure why mom passed it to me except that my sister probably told her to just toss it.
guess she knew I would be curious enough to find out what it is.

don’t you know anybody who would use it? Its probably worth about $15 – $20. If you post some pictures in the swap forum, someone may want it.

sounds like a plan …but knowing MY MOTHER I should check with her first …the minute I sell it she’ll be telling me she wants it back :-) it just might need to sit on the shelf another 10 years before I can have it again. sigh
