How can I make cutting boards out of this??

I picked up a few 10 foot x 8” pieces of select hard maple (for my wife) to make some cutting boards with. I sliced off a 3 foot section and sent it through the planer

Yup, that sure is maple. But hang on a second, something doesn’t look quite right

Surprise! Tiger maple.

I stopped short with the planer as it was beginning to tear out. I’ll finish it up by hand. I planed down the rest of the board and it had as much if not more figure. No way this is getting turned into end grain boards! I still have a solid inch, so I may entertain resawing it to increase my yield.
