My wife, the lady I love the most and one of the best woodworkers in our family, has joined our community. She has been the most supportive and loving wife and cherish her more than anything. She works full time at our shop building doors / shaper work, dovetails our drawers (oh yeah, I have learned not to mess with her drawers :), some cabinets, some face frames, cuts shelves, sanding, sanding, more sanding, spraying lacquer / paint / stain, custom mixing colors, running all of the machines in the shop, etc….

August is our anniversary month and so I bought her a new Dewalt impact gun (she has her own 12v ridgid 2 speed but wanted her own impact gun now) and even got her a new compressor (new to us anyway) so she can be back in business.

My wife certainly seems unique. I was at the school auction the other day, spoke with a fella who wanted the Unisaw I bought. He told me his wife would have been upset at him spending money on that saw. Well, my wife was disappointed in me because I let another guy win the bid on an older Rockwell floor model drill press (guy won it at 40.00) and she was even more discouraged finding out that I let two PM lathes go to 2 other fellas. She felt I should have bid more aggressively on the large drill press and felt I should have won both PM lathes.

In fact, our Speedaire Compressor pump went out, appeared it was going to be a repair/replacement expense of around 1,000.00 and I told her I was not going to the auction in light of the unexpected pump failure. She told me she wanted me to go to the auction. I held off on the pump on purpose and ended up getting a good industrial compressor pump at the school auction for much less.

So she shares in my passion of woodworking and loves the old American woodworking machinery as much as I do. she is always the first person in the shop in the morning, of course usually the first to leave as she likes to beat the heat. So she is simply an amazing wife. And not to mention all of the things she does for her family at home away from the shop.

So here is to introducing my wife. She has had a large hand in building much of what we have built and does a great job.

She might not get on nearly as much as I do. Her free time is spent reading books on her tablet. She has done some amazing projects though.

Funny thing, she brings home stray cabinets like some folks bring home stray animals. We will have an extra cabinet on a regular basis that just does not make it on the project and ends up at the shop. Her little wheels get to spinning on just where that nice little or big cabinet will fit in our home. So now, in our home, we have pine cabinets, some walnut cabinets, some mesquite cabinets, a maple cabinet… She loves them all :)
