I am rebuilding an old sailboat on St Thomas USVI and am in need of some premium Northern hard white maple. It will be used for 1/4 inch strips for the sole (floor) in the boat. I need the good stuff—clear, white as possible with no red or gray. Have seen it called select white.

For some reason I can’t find a good source. Does anyone know of a place that has this stuff and can sort/ship it to me?

Thanks,

Keith

Keith, I am in the lumber business in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and have on hand several thousand ft. of select and better white hard maple. PM me with the amount you are looking for and in specs.

The shipping will kill you. Try Shell Lumber in Miami.

Have your say...
