When I see a phone number and/or email addy posted on open forums, I find myself wondering the intent.

Could you provide a bit more detail about the build you wish to undertake? Maybe tell us which materials you will use, and techniques? Including your experience and skill level is also useful.

Hello Bucket head;
I was posting this for a friend of mine in Michigan. She has this desire for a piece of furniture that would have a multiple use. She is using reclaimed maple lumber and an antique headboard. She has a carpenter available to her. His abilities I am unsure of. Sorry for posting personal info on the forum. I was hoping that I could find a pattern for the purpose. Everyone I have talked to gets the drift on what I am talking about as far as a bench that could pull apart into a bed. So far no leads on a pattern to use. The mechanics would be similar to a leaf table on the underside. the top would have boards that are spaced apart to mesh together when closed and pull part and stop to make the bed platform. The antique headboard would be attached to the horizontal side of the bench, I assume at a leg support that would stay stationary. Hope this helps .

I have no plans. But i’m intrigued. Are we talking sit-on-it bench, or wood-shavings-between-the-sheets type ‘bench’?
I think i know the type of table you’re talking about. But it’s not a “leaf table”. So do me a favour and do an image search for “leaf table” and tell us if that’s really what you mean?

Yes it is a sit on type bench. the slats for the bench will be made with 1×4 maple. Leaf table like what our moms had for dinning room tables, where you pulled the table apart and inserted a leaf to extend the size of the table. Hope this clarifies this better.
