Topic tags/keywords: hand tools sketchup

I’m thinking of putting on an instructional video series for making tools or using Sketchup. I want to hear what other people are more interested in seeing. I’m very proficient in Sketchup and not so much in tool-making so that being said, what would you prefer to see me do? I’m putting it to a vote here and on other forums so whichever gets more votes is what I’m going to do.

I’m always looking for tutorials on sketchup. Damn nice program, but I just don’t seem to find the time to get to it. I use Autocad a fair bit , but I can’t/don’t use it in 3d.

so , it being instructional videos, wouldn’t it make sense to instruct on something you are proficient with as opposed to something you aren’t?

PurpLev just read my mind. The net is awash in how-to videos by people who don’t know how-to. I myself was thinking of throwing together a few”DIY Hernia Surgery” videos but found it too hard to hold the scalpel in one hand and the camera in the other (I will pass on this though: Cinamon-flavored dental floss is NOT a good substitute for surgical sutures.)

But if you’re proficient in sketchup, and so many of us aren’t, then why not a few woodworking themed sketchup lessons? I’d watch those.

PurpLev read my mind as well (love the hair by the way). I was thinking it would be easier and much more valuable to those viewing them. I posted this on the Wood Talk forum and the jury was split there. Maybe I’ll do instructional videos on Sketchup and entertainment videos on the tool builds. Thanks for your responses.
