I asked in a blog whether you could sell tools on LumberJocks, and I was pointed here. If it’s not a good place for this, my apologies!

I’ve decided to sell my Ridgid bandsaw. It’s been on Craig’s List for a few days (http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/tls/3964338849.html), but I’m not willing to let it go for a song and a dance. It’s an excellent tool, and I’m loathe to part with it, but I’ve gotten into a situation where I’m faced a tough decision.

It’s a Ridgid BS14002 with some modifications to fix the recent lack of quality control coming out of China. The upper wheel was extremely out of balance—I balanced it by adding and removing some weight. I also added a piece of MDF to the underside of the stand to add stiffness and help reduce vibration. I also changed the v-belt to a size that can actually be tensioned.

The bandsaw goes for $400 new—I would really love to get $250 for it, but I will accept offers. I’m willing to deliver close to the Winston-Salem/Mocksville area, but I would need something to cover my gas. Of course, I could always arrange to ship it on a truck is someone wanted it that bad.

I hope that it goes to a good home…

Its unfortunate that you had to make that tough decision, I hope this sells quickly for you and that your situation improves.
