Topic tags/keywords: canada vancouver lumber quarter sawn oak

Lumber selection here in Saskatoon isn’t that fantastic. We’ve got one supplier (Windsor Plywood) and their prices can be pretty high. I’m going to be in Vancouver in August and was wondering where people get their lumber from. Specifically I’m looking for some quarter sawn white oak for a stickley side table reproduction I’m planning on for the wife. Thanks for any help.

I don’t know about Vancouver, but Edensaw hardwoods in Port Townsend, WA will have it. I can’t say what taking it across the border would entail.

Yeah, but then I’d have to go and get my passport renewed and they just upped the fees for that so it could turn out to be pretty expensive. Thanks though. They look like they’ve got quite the selection of wood.

Does anyone mind if I bump this back up in hopes for another reply?

I live in Surrey, Windsor is OK but you are right their prices are high. I have not ventured past Windsor but apparently open only during the week is PJ Whites Hardwood (not sure if they sell to the individual user, call first) and Reimer Hardwood in Abbotsford says on their website they will sell any quantity to anyone.

Have your say...
