Can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. Would like 1/2 hp 10” rack and pinion height adj, at least 2.5” travel and 5 speeds. I had the Craftsman 10” before they changed the motor and would get it again but the reviews are mostly negative because of the motor. Would like to stay under $150.

I would like to suggest if I may to put the following on top of your list :
1)minimum speed of 200 to 300 rpm.
2)15” swing or more.
the rest of your requirements are good ,I guess the reason for not looking for a floor model is lack of space but I urge you to reconsider.

Unless you go used, you won’t likely find a press for under $150 that has 1/2 HP motor. Most in that range have 1/3, which is underpowered for general woodworking, IMHO.

A floor model would have just a slightly larger footprint than the stand I built for my previous drill press. Had to sell all due to moving. Wish I had thought to put them in storage. Cost is the main deterrent to floor model and I don’t need 16 speeds. Thanks for the input.
