I used a pool hose attachment and stuck it into the port for my Ridgid orbital sander. With this setup there is almost no dust that gets away. I’m quite surprised actually with how clean sanding is now.

As you can see it’s a fairly tight connection as I can hold the sander by the hose and it doesn’t fall out.

It would be nice if the Rigid vacuums either directly matched or came with an adapter to fit the dust collection ports on their tools. Looks like a stout connection.

I tried that with my Dewalt RAS and I must admit that like you, I saw almost ZERO dust on and around what I was sanding on. But it was awkward as heck for me to use with that hose attached.
