the parts (mainly a 1.5×1.5” and 3×3” both x36” extrusions) have arrived today. I assembled the linear bearing ahd need to get some tslot blots from woodcraft tomorrow to do the final mount and assembly.

One comment I wanted to make was these extrusions are a LOT heavier than I thought. With the 8020 design tool I figured out that with my set up i could expect as much .004” of deflection at 36” under 5# load across the fence.

Since we generally push hard against the fence I expect pretty much zero deflection in every day use. So once i get it square it’ll stay there.

On concern I had was regarding wear on the linear bearing pads causing me to lose square over time. This is still an issue but not nearly as much as I thought. These bearing pads seem like they’ll wear quite well. Also most of the wear I suspect will occur on the pads on the top of the front rail. This is good because the pads on the front (user side) of the front rail are what lock against the fence.

Can’t wait to get it mounted!
