I know Central Machine is hard to get these days but I also know that some other BS company makes a compatible riser for it. I’ve searched the old threads here but cant find a link.

Anyone know where I can get one. It’s the Harbor Freight Central Machine 14” 4 speed BS.

If all else fails I could call HF.

The Grizzly kit is supposed to fit, but it is $92.

Grizzly Riser Kit

That Western Tool riser kit looks like a great price at only $29.99.

Hmmmm, wonder if this will fit my Delta. I learned about the riser kits from this site and thought I’d like one, but 100bucks was more than I could budget for. I might could pinch a few pennies from the fuel budget and handle 30.

Thanks for asking!

They look like the same thing, just different color paint.

Did the riser kit from Western Tool for the Pioneer Saw fit your Central Machinery Band Saw okay? Any modifications needed?

I have a CM bandsaw and would like to get the kit if it works.

Thanks

Apctjb, I got it last week, but havent had a chance to mess with it yet. I have an order to fill, so I need the BS up and running.

Thanks for the quick response. An update after you installed it would be much appreciated. Would love to get this ordered if it works.

My kit uses one long bolt instead of two smaller ones. It looks pretty easy to put together, I just need the time to do it.

The grizzly riser kit also looks to use just one bolt to secure the parts and the riser has pins to correctly align it. I would expect that it would be the same for CM but can not find a picture online of the CM riser kit to verify

If the riser kit from Western tool works it seems like the easiest way to go for the money.

Update: went ahead and ordered the riser kit from Western Tool. Arrived next day. Took about 15 min to install. Perfect fit out of the box with no issues.

The kit cost $29.00 and came with everything needed including a 105” 1/2 blade.

My HF CM 14” Bandsaw now has 12” resaw capability (at least in theory)

Thanks to “distrbd” for posting this great deal from Western Tool!

I hope mine only takes me 15 minutes. I’ll have to wait till the jobs I have now are complete before I try it. For one thing, I’m sure that blade is crap and I’ll have to get one from Timberwolfe. Makes me kind of mad that I just got two blades for it and havent even used the 1/2 inch yet. I may find someone here in town that wants them for a couple bucks. I like to have a 1/4” a 3/8” and a 1/2 inch incase I need to resaw.

Did not try the blade other than make a few cuts to check that everything was working okay. When I ordered the kit I order a 105” WoodSlicer resaw blade from Highland Woodworking. Anxious for it to arrive and try it out.
