Intrasia vs. scroll saw piecing

Intrasia, is when you make pictures out of wood useing different colors and shapes to form a scene. Regular scrolling, you cut releifs out to create the pattern or sene. Hope this helps.

I think what you’re referring to is the difference between intarsia and segmentation. Intarsia is typically different species of wood cut and shapped separately and the different species making up the different colors where segmentation is cut out of a single piece of wood and then either stained or painted to achieve the affect. The shaping process is typically the same.
