MY elderly pal Fred decided recently to give his saw away to a local charity he helps out with himself teaching new skills to ex offenders and drug addicts. In it’s repalcement he at eighty years young decided to order a new makita saw and also its wheeled trolley.I was surprised to learn that a few maonths later when he got some help he found that the sliding table slot and the saw table slot were different widths so he could use the mitre gauge in only one of them not both.He telephoned the company which sold it to him a very good well known british company and they messed him about ( stupid employee) anyway he finally got in touch with someone yesterday who new what they were talking about and was told Makita don’t send out replacement parts and have asked for the whole thing to be sent back to their headquarters in England. Now first off though because he does not have the original box which he got rid off as it was very large five foot square it would have to back to axminster tools where he bought it from to be re-wrapped and boxed before being sent to makita for their apraisal of the problem. It will take several months in which time he is without any saw.Do you think this is fair and what should he do or can he do about it? NO, it’s NOT fair…

Have him or someone call the President of Makita and tell him the story!

That is sad.

Have your say...
