Topic tags/keywords: question

I’m trying to shoot a piece of rough oak and having difficulty figuring out how to shoot it on the standard design of a donkey ear. It seems either way I turn it I can’t get it to work. Should I just build the shooting board with the shoot on the flat side of the triangle, or is there another better way to do it. The only solution I can see is two build two separate shooting boards (or one with two sides) to accommodate such pieces of wood.

Any help would be great.

I have tried a number of shooting board designs. The best one so far is Paul Sellers.

You can find it on his you tube channel. It is absolutely dead on and easy to make. You will need some sharp chisels. Watch the video a couple times then have at it. My first try was a flop, second one works like a charm.
