In your opinion is it more important to match the grain or the flame of a figured veneer?

I would think the brighter of the two, as related to how it’s going to be viewed. If the piece will be primarily viewed up close, and the grain patterns are clear, then maybe leaning toward the grain; if viewing from a distance that makes the grain indistinct, than maybe lean toward the flame look. Definitely, and only, an opinion.
