Only showing 82 degrees on the thermometer, but with the humidity over 75% it’s almost hard to breathe out there. I’m putting plywood underlayment down in the kitchen (superply) preparing to lay a new floor. House has AC but I have to go outside to make cuts. Using an edge guide and my circular saw. Those 4×8 sheets aren’t heavy, but they’re floppy. Too floppy to handle by myself on the table saw out back in the shop.

Trying to get all the big pieces in. The small pieces I can walk back to the shop and cut, but right now…. it’s like… get 3 sheets in and then sit and cool down a bit in the AC and try to stop sweating. My rule for today will be to drink a lot of water and once I decide to sit, I have to sit until I am no longer sweating and my t-shirt is dry… or nearly so.

This might take a while. :)

Supposed to go over 90 today (that’s HOT for here…. you southern boys might be used to it, but not us yankees… heheheh) so at some point I’m just gonna call it a day.

HorizontalMike,
We’re having almost the same temps, ‘cept I’m now up to 86. Humidity about the same as yours. BUT…. you have a breeze! heheheh Wind speed here is 3mph….. I FART with more velocity than that!

The GOOD news is….. I put 2 racks of beef ribs in the smoker. :)

Ah butt Charlie! We are now getting a light rain and the temps dropped to 74F. And the FART, eh uh “wind” has now died. ;-)

For the middle of July this is unheard of.
Most recent years we get close to having 100 consecutive days topping 100F. No complaints today!

Mid 90s here today glad to have AC .It always gets me when the weather guys says it’s going to be a beautiful day and 98 degrees. Perhaps he should go outside and work in the sun and see how beautiful it feels to him.

Hard to believe people actually pay $$$ to get to hot/humid climates. Maybe we all need to build lakes and beaches (biting flies are around here so it probably won’t work for me but might for others).

Sorta like Mike, here on the east side of Houston it is currently 84 with intermittent thunder/rain moving in off the gulf.

@Charlie – I feel your pain. I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I had 3 sheets of 3/4” plywood that needed to be cut down. I have a pop up canopy in the back yard, so I set my stuff up there.

It was in the upper 90’s that week. I would make one or two cuts (some rips, some crosscuts), then go cool off just like you. I was in no hurry and told myself this was going to take awhile. Well, it took most of the afternoon. Even in the shade it was hot.

I finally got all three sheets cut to manageable sizes, then loaded them back on my truck and pulled around to the garage (Mikey’s workshop!). After unloading, I took a long break.

The good part is it is 74 in the shop! :-)

Well I’ve called it a day and I didn’t get done. I have about 3 more sheets to go. 2 might go in as full sheets and then piecing around, but I try to keep it so “pieces” aren’t little slivers with 1 row of staples in them. :)

Tomorrow is another day.
