There’s a guy about an hour from where I live selling 1700 board feet of Pecan that’s air dried for about 10 years for a dollar a board foot. However he isn’t very keen on selling it in smaller quantities. I told him I’d be willing to take about 200 board feet, but don’t have enough room to store more than that. Do y’all think $1 a board is a pretty decent deal for pecan if he’s willing to break it up to smaller amounts?

It’s in Little Rock, AR, so it’s not too close to southern Illinois. If that’s a gloat worthy buy I certainly hope he’ll be willing to sell me a couple hundred board feet. If I weren’t drying a good bit of Walnut right now I’d be happy to get more.

I would guess part of the reason why its $1/bd ft is because he just wants it all gone to avoid the headache of selling 100 bd ft here and there and people digging through the pile. Offer $1.50/bd ft and just take directly off the top of the pile, Im guessing you’d have better luck.

Or just offer 1500.00 for the pile. I pay about 2.50 bf for really good fas pecan.

I sell it for $3.00/BF. $1.00 is a very good price. Actually, that is really cheap.

Maybe think about buying it all off of him and turning around some of it for a profit?
