So I answered a CL ad about 35-40 minutes away from me not expecting much but seemed like a decent deal he was advertising a bunch of hard and soft woods for $20 (his brother had passed and was clearing out his house). He also had another ad giving away marble cutoffs and upon arriving had a bounty of tools he was looking to clear out and I paid almost next to nothing everything in the pics was what I got for $50 TOTAL!

So I think I made out alright for $50 the big mahogany pieces on the bottom of that stack weren’t part of this that was another deal along with some black walnut for $50 too.

Man! It looks like all the good deals are always on that side of the Adirondacks.

Well done! I get jealous seeing other people’s great deals, but I must remind myself of the good deals which have come my way.

That said, that $50 price tag definitely deserves a “you suck”!

That is a shame. This guy sure did not do right for his brother. I know that it is not your fault, but it does not seem right to give away the legacy of a wood worker for a song after he dies.

However, you made a fine haul, for sure.

Nice, I wish I could run across a deal like that. That would be a great for a beginning wood worker.

From my understanding WDHL his brother was a dabbler in everything I picked up masonry tools, carpentry, and electrical and plumbing. But the real kicker is I actually was the third person there, the people before took a bunch of the hardwoods and the table saw (an old unisaw) and all the bar and pipe clamps before I got there for a cool $200 it was tough to be angry but if only I could have gotten there sooner.
