He was 96 years old.
He taught me to read and write when I was 3. He was the coach of my ball teams, and was always there when I needed anything.

I took care of him the last years of his life, but when you get to that age nothing seems to help. I had to satisfy myself in just doing what I knew was right even if he didn’t like it much.

I hope now, somehow, he understands.

All my skill came from him.
All my life, I used what he gave me and now it’s my job to do the same for my children.

Mom passed a year and a half ago.
Here they are in better times.

Thanks for reading.

RIP. Russell, my Dad passed in 1999 at 81, however my Mom just had her 90th Birthday last month. Regardless of when they pass, we miss them and wonder forever, how things ‘could of been’ or ‘should of been’. All said and done, we still miss them and hold them dear to our hearts. Thanks for sharing.

So sorry for your loss Russ.

Lost my father May 30, 2012 (moms birthday).

Even though it was a long battle with a slow decline, the loss is still such a shock when the call comes- and you realize that you still were not ready to lose him.

All the best to you and your family as you grieve his loss and celebrate his life.
