I’m close to finishing my DC install. Harbor Freight 2hp DC, 5” snap lock pipe, 4” drops to tools.
While installing, I had in the back of my mind, to try not to have too many bends, and to keep flex hose to a minimum. It just didn’t work out that way.
My DC is located in the storage attic above my garage and exhausted to the outside. I have a 15’ run up there and drop down the wall to my RT, BS, and DP. The other drop is close to the DC and will support my miter saw, and I will wye off of that (when I can find time to finish) to a drop for a drop between my jointer and bench, with a 4c4×2 1/2” wye at the bench for ROS, etc
At the ceiling I will continue with 5”, then reduce to 4” with an expandable 4” flex with quick disconnect fitting for my planer and rigid belt/spindle sander which are located in a double flip-top cabinet on casters.
I haven’t found a way to collect dust on my Unisaw, so I suppose I will continue to just continue to clean out the cabinet once in a while.
All critique and suggestions are welcome.
Jim

I will post pics as soon as I remember how to post

Looking forward to seeing your setup! I did my ducting install last year, but then I went and added a second bandsaw and screwed it up slightly – not enough suction to the new saw.

I have expandable hose on all my machines, which are all on mobile bases, in case I need to move them out for larger pieces.

Looking good! I am going to be running a similar set up. I have a HF DC with a dust deputy cyclone. I am planning on running 5” main run let me know how yours works.
