Topic tags/keywords: clamp resource

I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to woodworking but the first thing that I learned is that you can never have too many clamps. Yesterday I was in my local Ollie’s and was surprised that they had a collection of Jorgensen clamps that were well priced. The 8036 was 24.99 and the 8048 was 29.99 and finally the 3706 was 5.99, these prices allowed me to beef up my clamp collection and not feel guilty about the cost. But I digress, the reason for this post is when I got home I noticed why the 8036 and 8048 were priced the way they were, the stops were missing. My original plan was to call up the makers of Jorgensen, the adjustable clamp company and find out if could buy the stops, figuring that if they were too expensive I would just return the clamps to Ollies. To my surprise I easily got through and the very nice woman I spoke to told me that they would send me the stops for free. In an age of cheap over priced Chinese tools with terrible or no customer service it is great that there is still an American company who values my business. With that one phone call Jorgensen gained a new customer who will be buying more clamps as his abilities allow. Well that is my story just wanted to post it since I tend to expect a negative experience when having to deal with these types of issues.
