Could you guys kindly walk me through a crash course in selecting, grinding and sharpening a scraper to cut very slight coves down an octagonal spindle?

Thanks!

Custom shaped scrapers can be made from old Saws All blades.
I grind the profile on by bench grinder. To sharpen them, I drag the profile over a file clamped in the bench vice.
Profiles to scrape coves are easier to make than those for convex shapes. For the convex profile you could use a Dremell Tool.
