I have lived in Indiana for my whole life. I am 34 years young and I am shocked I have never heard of Marc Adams School of Woodworking. I know the school is only 20 years old so that would put it at starting when I was 14. I have been woodcarving for 10 years, just going to the different shows and clubs, I would think I would have heard of it somewhere. It’s only an hour from my house, I would have started taking classes years ago. Looking it up, it sounds like a good school.

What do you guys think?

I have known about them for a really long time and get their course catalog every season. Seems they have only gotten some attention over the last 5 years or so. The classes look amazing, and they seem to attracts big and small names from all over to teach courses. I have had my eye on the carving classes for a while, but I can’t justify the price and drive from Chicago. Overall, I have only met two who have gone, one guy loved it, one guy thought it was a waste of time and money, but I guess it all depends on what you want to get out of it.

I have taken a couple of classes there. One was a sharpening class and it was so-so. The other was a marquetry class and it was one of the best classes I’ve taken in my 40+ year woodworking career. Marc and all the folks who work there are great. The facility is top-notch. I HIGHLY recommend the school.
