Topic tags/keywords: resource tip question lathe turning chisel

I utilize the EasyWood lathe tools and very much love them. I was curious, however, if anyone else who uses them has found an ‘off-brand’ of suppliers for the cutting bits? Partially out of price but also for different ‘shapes’. As much as I love the tools I wish they offerred, for lack of a better description, an inverted radius bit.

Thanks in advance…John

I have found EWT cutters on ebay for slightly cheaper than normal retail, they appear to be legit.

Check out http://www.eddiecastelin.com/cutters_only ... I don’t know if Eddie’s cutters are compatible with EWT tools, but his prices are hard to beat.

global tooling, prices are amazing, carbide cutters are razor sharp and last last last…

I hand made my tools from cold rolled steel, ground the ends flat, drilled and tapped. Mounted the 14 mm radius corner carbide from global tooling to one and the 9 mm round to another and off I went turning handles for them. Nothing like a tool that was made to fit your hand, made by your hand and works better than any off the shelf tool that cost too much. go with global, captain eddie sources from a different company and marks up the prices. globals 10 pack of radius corner 14 mm carbide cuters sells for $1.73 per cutter, or 17.30 for a TEN PACK. Cant beat that price anywhere.
