That’s correct woodworm – i placed an order at Rockler to verify it, and got this message. “Items in your basket with shipping restrictions can only be shipped within the United States via ground transportation. They cannot be shipped by air, priority delivery services, through the postal system or sent to a post office box address.” It is apparently part of the security bomb related items through detectors. As a practical investment, it is a great idea or simply an amenity/luxury for the buyer to decide if it is “wise” or not depending on one’s budget. I really like my magnetic devices, but they really aren’t critical. But they are neat. -- Regards, Steve2 |

Thank you Molly. If because it contains magnet, I think it makes sense. I’m not sure, just guessing. -- masrol, kuala lumpur, MY. |

It’s not actually about bomb related security but magnetic force indeed. They’ve always been classified as dangerous good for air travel, specially the rare earth contained on this tools. It seems their magnetic fields are strong enough to create interferences in the electrical wires running on the other side of the bulkhead of the cargo bay area of the airplanes. |
