This is more of a “feeler” post as I don’t really know what this is worth, and I’m not interested in shipping it. But, if there are any carvers nearby interested in getting into power carving, I have a fairly complete setup with a hanging Foredom motor and flex shaft, foot pedal, several of the handpieces, and a box full of collets and bits.

Again, this is only really for someone who would like to stop by in Buchanan, MI, and check it out, maybe make an offer.

If interested, please drop me a note or reply to this topic.

Bumping my two-year-old post. Any interest in a power-carving setup, here in SW Michigan/South Bend?

I would suggest a picture or two, and expanding the area you are willing to deal with. Understand the risk – but but if your market is only Buchanan Michigan residents that are Lumberjock members, it might be a while before the phone rings.

I agree that you need a picture, list of what Foredom and what dollars you are expecting.

I might be interested but would not even think about looking without more info.

OK, here’s some pictures. This all belonged to my late grandpa who was a great woodcarver.
It’s a Foredom “CC” motor, four of the handpieces, a footpedal, and a homemade hanger/stand. There’s a whole passel of bits and things. I’m not sure which things go with the Foredom and which go with the dremel. Maybe they’re interchangable?

I’ve no idea what this is worth. Certainly more than $100, probably less than $1000. I can verify that the motor runs and the attached handpiece spins; I haven’t tried the other three.

Ebay prices are all over the place: sometimes just the motor goes for $120, sometimes people get motor+shaft+handpiece+pedal for the same price.

If I got a really good offer I guess I’d ship (without the stand, though), but it would have to be “as is”—a local buyer could test and verify that everything is in the desired condition and that nothing is missing.

I’d appreciate replies with feedback on pricing, or if you notice some accessory or part is missing. I have a lot of grandpa’s stuff and he had lots of tools I couldn’t identify or that were separated from where they belonged.
