Topic tags/keywords: scotch brace bit retention chuck lever spring question

Hi.

I have just acquired a scotch brace, on which the bit retention lever has no spring action. I can`t see any way of removing the lever to replace the spring. Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks
Chris

Got a pic? Might be a small pin in there right where it pivots. It could be covered with finish or the ends might be ground smooth.
