Topic tags/keywords: need biesemeyer accu-fence

Hello everyone. I’m new here, and not sure this is the right forum to post this, but I found a Powermatic 66 table saw on craigslist and couldn’t pass it up. It has a 53” Accu-Fence and the little lady is flipping out about the size, as it’s in our shared-space drive-under basement/shop. I promised I would locate a shorter fence to use until we build a dedicated shop several years down the road. Two questions:

1. The Accu-Fence looks an awful lot like a Biesemeyer fence. Are they interchangeable? For instance, if I find some Biesemeyer fence rails, can I use the Accu-Fence T-square on them?

2. Would anyone here happened to have upgraded to a larger fence (the logical progression) and have some shorter fence rails collecting dust that I might be able to purchase?

I really appreciate any advice. I really think if she’ll use the larger fence a few times, she’ll find that a smaller one is unnecessary, but I have to make good on my word to find a shorter one.

Thanks.

CP

The rails should be interchangeable with a Commercial Biese, Shop Fox Classic, Jet Xacta, HTC, and other commercial duty t-style fence rails. You can also cut down the long rails to something shorter, but it does seem a shame to cut them if you don’t have to. Another option is to buy steel tube stock from a steel supply house and drill and tap your own.

I have a shop fox and it is a bastard size tube 2 3/8. Tell her to park outside. when I got mine it was for a 32” delta setup. I called about a new set of rails and they said it would be almost as much as buying another fence. I then called around to source a piece of tubing and being 2 3/8 no one had it. I had a friend bend me some L- shape steel and I very carefully welded it together making the size tube I needed. I say tell her to deal with it. The longer it bugs her, the sooner you my get your new shop.

Well, I wish it were as simple as reasoning with her, but unfortunately… I’ve learned to pick my battles. I made a deal, so I’ll stick to it. I guess I’m going to order a whole Biesemeyer system from Grizzly. They seem to have the best price with the most reasonable shipping. Any chance someone has a coupon code they don’t plan to use? Anything helps! I appreciate all the input.
