Carving Wood For Sale
We cleared out my mother-in-law’s home this past weekend as she past away at 93 years old Palm Sunday. My father-in-law was a wood carver in retirement and had a stash of wood carving blank stock she did not want to part with after he died 6 years ago at 92 years old.
Here’s a portion of what I have in a 6’ X 8” trailer in my garage. Most of it was in his dry garage and dry basement for over 25 years awaiting his carving tools:
A) Basswood logs, (ends were sealed to prevent splitting but some have minor splits) 8”-10” diameters, 3-33” long, 7-14-20” long.
B) 1, 2, 4, 6” thick basswood planks, 33-48” long. 1- water tupelo blank 4X8X11”.
C) Walnut log section 9 dia X 14”
D) 24- log slices 1”> various species
E) Other misc burls, pine knots, etc used for mounting his bird and animal carvings.
I would like these items to go to a fellow craftsperson instead of the campfire where most of the family wanted them to be dealt with quicker.
In pricing blanks from Internet suppliers this trailer full is worth over $1000.00 I will take the best offer well under that and proceeds need to go to the estate. Full trailer sale is best as I don’t want to sell piece-by-piece all summer long… I need the trailer for lawn work in a few days….. I may be placing this on Craig’s List for more$$ in a day or two but I wanted to let guild members know first.
It may be seen at 1508 Creekside Lane, Green Bay and I will deliver in Brown County or close by. Call first 920-912-1711 for appt. or more info.
