I’ve seen more than one Floridian lamenting the cost and scarcity of Walnut here in Florida.
While perusing my local Craigslist, I found ‘a guy’ who seems to have a fairly ample supply, at a reasonable rate.
After calling him, it seems he is down to 300-400 BF of mostly 4/4 rough sawn stock. Thicker peices too. he mentioned some 12/4 pieces that were 7” wide and 7’ in length. Nice long pieces. He is willing to negotiate price at 200+ bf.
Are there any north florida/south Georgia LJs interested in buying up some of this walnut?
Price is at $5.00 per bf under 200 bf. less than half per bf than what I saw in the jacksonville woodcraft store, which might have been 20 board feet of wood in stock.
