Topic tags/keywords: question

Hi to all .I am thinking about a trip to the late June for about three weeks .i thought that a few days in Los Angeles and then Las Vegas with a side trip to the Grand canyon might be good .What i want to ask you guys is ,is there a wood /tool show on anywhere around that time that would be worth going to without flying to the other side of the country? My dates to visit are very flexible, and so is my itinerary. This will be my first visit to the any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t know of any shows but in Los Angeles you could visit Austin Hardwoods in Santa Ana, Eagle Tools in NE Los Angeles, Laguna Tools in Irvine, and Baileigh Tools in Ontario.

You might try this one. It’s one of the biggest and although 80% of the machinery is geared toward large machinery and suppliers it also has a lot of people who sell all of the stationary and portable power tools and many other things that would interest you. I have never been to this one since I live near Atlanta where the large IWF woodworking show is.

This may be the same thing Charles linked to above.
Sorry, I was looking this up while he was posting.

Depending on your taste in woodworking, here are a couple places on my list:

These guys are on my list of people to visit on my next trip to California. If you happen to get routed through Hawaii let me know. I left Australia 13yrs ago and it’s always good to grab a beer and tell a few stories with a familiar sounding voice.

Lie Nielsen Toolworks in Maine would probably be a fun experience, I actually want to go there myself soon. That is all the way across the country, but it could be cool. Maine also happens to be beautiful in the summer, so it wouldn’t be a bad option for general vacationing anyway.

P.S. You’re always welcome in Texas!!! I always felt like Aussies were the same breed as Texans!!!

The Greene and Greene houses in Cal. would be fun if you like Greene and Greene.
