Thanks everyone for so much info, advice, and encouragement! I have tried few times to start a business; gift shop, selling scrollsawn items, and handyman/carpentry business. Just couldnt get money coming in quick enough to pay bills so always go back to truck driving after a few months. Also it seems people dont appreciate wood as much these days. Truckin is good in alot of ways but if possible would rather work from home. When I’m trucking I work 60-70 hours a week so dont have much time to get business going or even hobby; and it never works when I quit trucking to try it! When I am home I want to spend time with my wife and kids. Anywho thanks for the encouragement. I would love to find a steady consistant market/outlet for my wood gifts or something someday. Cant seem to find a market. Not many buyers and dont have time to do craft shows that dont pay much anyway. I give away most everything. Until God opens another door I’ll keep truckin. Teaching is my other passion. I love teaching my Sunday school kids. It would be fun to teach kids woodworking too! Anywho it sure is fun to check in here daily! Nice to see what eveyone is doing…its inspiring. Its a great place to be! Thanks again!!

I feel your pain on giving things away. I can never bring myself to charge someone for something that I truly enjoy doing… I don’t feel right!

I have alittle experience (in my 7th year now) teaching kids woodworking, and it can be a blast or a disaster, sometimes both in the same day. good luck with your endeavors!
