Topic tags/keywords: grizzly g1276 beltdisc sander disc sander dust collection

I’m searching for a solution to connect the oval dust port below the 12” disc on the Grizzly G1276 Belt/Disc sander to a dust collection system. I am aware Grizzly has changed 2010 and newer models to allow the use of a dust port on the front lower disc guard.

Has anyone found and/or successfully adapted an “oval to round” sheet metal fitting to the bottom oval dust port on models that were made before 2010?

A good sheet metal shop can make one for you. They have to know the length and width of the “oval” and the diameter of the round you want to connect to and the desired length of the transition piece. They can make this out of whatever gauge material you want; thicker costs more naturally. I’ve had several made over the years and the cost is surprisingly low; probably less than $30. I had one made for a wood stove flue connection once for $7.00.

I used a short piece of flex hose with a hose clamp and it formed it self to oval on the oval end.
