Topic tags/keywords: retail counter design counter service

Hi LJ’s,

I was asked by my father to build a service counter for a welding service business he has started in our area. I have a basic Sketchup design that I think I am going to run with, but I was curious if anyone out there has built one or could lead me to some designs or techniques.

Currently he has two metal shelves (2’X4’ in an L shape) with plywood on top. I kind of took that concept and designed it similarly but am looking for other inspiration as well.

Any tips, tricks, links, articles etc. would be helpful.

Thank you

Chris

Maybe as it’s welding a metal structure would be more appropriate with wood accents…

Thank you David, that looks cool! I agree with you renners about building a metal structure and adding wood accents, I may try to just use his metal shelving and do something with that. I appreciate the feedback guys.

No guys I was thinking in the line of squarer tubing and a few 1/16” sheets of metal .

I second the metal structure + a metal top. No wood.

Have your say...
