Today I decided to do a little clean up and rearrange my mobile tool carts. I really needed to de-clutter the area. Afterall, it is a one car garage with washer, dryer, upright freezer, hot water heater, storage shelves along one wall …and the HF dust collector on the same wall.

I decided to move a shelving unit to another location so my SCMS could be moved into that spot. While cleaning off the shelves and moving the unit, I discovered a magazine lying on the floor behind it.

I opened it up to discover it was a Family Handyman issue from April 1988!!! We moved into this house in July 1987. Guess I need to clean up more often, huh? :-)

Now I have some new reading material. :-)

I think that a lot of woodworkers could do a better job of cleaning up more often. I know I could so don’t be too hard on yourself. Actually we just got to realize that neatness makes us more efficient. Don’t get me wrong; our shops don’t have to be perfect in this respect. Hit a happy median and enjoy your shop.

That’s funny!

At the other extreme, there’s my mother-in-law.
