I am curious if anyone has been to a Grizzly tent sale. I am thinking about going to one. I am thinking about getting a few thinks and I know I will save by not having to pay shipping but are there any other savings that are significant?

I have never been to one, but I was told to get there early. There must be some reason, e.g. price, selection, etc.

I have heard people go there early, get in line and RUN to the tool they want. Some even bring friends/family to “tag-hold” a tool they will buy. Does not sound worth the hassle to me if this is really how it is.

Nope never been. But as others have posted you will want to get there early. Wouldn’t surprise me if people camp out overnight to be first in line. I’ve done similar in my youth, but for concert tickets…ahh the good old days!

I went to the last one. I didn’t get there early. It is a little crazy but you can find a few things for a good price. I’m a little leary of the machines because they are returns and do not have a warranty. You have to wonder about the quality of the particular line of machines if they have several of the same model with problems sitting there. They do have a lot of new tools on sale from different vendors. I got a dewalt planer for $295 with all the discounts. I did have a guy reach over top of me and grab the tag of a jointer I was inspecting. Good luck if you go, but I wouldn’t expect too much.

Went to one 3 years ago. Got there at 4 AM and was about 50th in line. People had binoculars tring to see through the fence and spot their prizes. By the time the gates opened at 8:30, The line was 4 wide and at least 400yds long. It was an all out scramble, and I was right in the middle of it. Did manage to snag a decent osscilating spindle sander that was a demonstrator, and some parts and pieces, but as far as saving money, I drove about 7 hrs to get there. All in all, its one of them things you have to do once “just because”
