We added a nice woodmaster 712 planer. We own the the woodmaster 725 and I do love the machine, but nothing can compare with dedicated set ups. We are going to set up the 712 to run crown molding, we will keep the 725 set up for planing.
The 712 has a 5 hp motor and came with the different attachments for ripping, sanding and planing. We never use the sanding feature. I paid 320.00 for the planer in good condition so I feel like we got a really good deal.
I am currently bidding on a Delta 24” planer with 7.5 hp motor and will likely bid aggressively at the end of the auction, it is now at 130.00. If I win that big Delta, we will set our 725 up for dedicated gang ripping to cut stile/rail material on one side and set up for face frame material on the other side. That will be nice if I can swing the Delta. Then our table saw will reduce to primarily cutting plywood, cutting dado and the occasional odd dimension that is not a stile or FF part.
First thing first will be to set up the 712 and that will be fun :)
