Hey guy, Among a pile of scrap softwood I noticed one really heavy piece. After giving it some love, it almost came alive! Its 8×16 1/4×7/8 and Im pretty sure it’s tigerwood. Right now Im calling it “The eye of Sauron”. Seems a shame to cut it up, any ideas on what I should make with it that would show it off? Thanks guys..

Make a shipping box, insert the wood and send it to me? ;>)

Resaw it and make each piece a panel in a 2 door cabinet. Hang the cabinet at eye level for maximal effect.

BW, It just lends itself to becoming a humidor to me, Maybe make it into a set for a ladies vanity…. ring holder, jewelry dish, possibly brush and mirror set?

Id resaw it if I could, but I dont have a bandsaw and thats a little big for my table saw.

I am liking AandC and Jumbo jack’s idea… could also still cut, piece together offset not mirrored, add a complimentary edging (high gloss finish to make the grains pop) for a fabulous tray.

the camera Im useing really dosnt capture colors properly, its muted in the pic. Im 95% its tigerwood.

If I were closer I would let you use a nice Disston! Of course, if you were that close, you could just use my band saw.

Yeah, I think holding out for a buddy with a bandsaw is the way to go on this one.
