This deal is done. I’m editing this message so you don’t waste your time reading the rest. It will slowly die over time…. :)

I hope this is posted in the right forum. I have a question about a CL listing. I actually think this is a good deal, but I would like to get some other opinions. I looked on Amazon and the price is only about 400 less than new, but it does come with some extras. It also seems to be in pretty good shape. Could someone either confirm or refute my belief about this being a good deal?

I’m pasting the actual description if you don’t want to follow the link:
“Right tilt. 3hp motor. single phase power, 230V only. (it has to run on 220 power). It has the extend table which will allow a 50” cut. Xacta Fence. (a comprable new saw is about $2200) Also included is the Brett-Guard ($1000 new) and the the mobile base with extension ($260 new). I moved and just never really got the shop set back up. I need to run 220 to the garage and have not. so i’m selling out. this is a great deal on very lightly used saw. So for $1800 obo, you are getting what would cost you about $3600+ tax to buy new. Please call or text chris at xxxxxxx. i can help you load it. it weighs about 350lbs.”

To see photos you’ll need to follow the link. His new price quotes for the accessories seem a bit high from what I’ve seen, but overall I think the price is in the ballpark. I thought about offering $1,500, but if this is a smokin deal I don’t want to low ball him. Thoughts???

Yes, I didn’t realize that since I was a new member that my first post had to be approved. It took a couple of days to get this post approved so I didn’t have time to wait for second opinions. I wound up buying it for $1,600 and he took down the post. At least I’m verified now so next time I post I won’t have to wait so long for answers. However, I feel like I got a good deal, which in the end is the most important piece of any transaction. :)

Thanks for the reply! Sorry it was moot by the time you saw it.

It’s a Jet 10x cabinet table saw. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overpaying for the package, but from the feedback I’ve received it sounds like I was right in thinking this was a good deal. Unfortunately, as soon as I committed to buy it, the seller yanked the ad on Craigslist so the link doesn’t work anymore. I purchased it for $1,600 and even though the ad states that it accepts the Xacta fence, it actually comes with it. So, I got the saw, the fence, a mobile base and the Brett-Guard for $1,600. I’m thinking this is a good start to my new shop. :)

Have your say...
