The lack of decent used Jointers in my area has started making me a little desperate. So I’m interested in this JET JJ-6CS, but the guy is asking 600, which seems really pricey. What would you offer on this jointer?

$600 is way too high for that machine. If I was in the market for a 6” jointer, I’d be offering $200 – $250 for that one.

Check out what you can get new for your money: Grizzly jointers.

What tools sell for obviously varies by region, but Im with John on the price. Here in MN that would probably be about a $250 jointer on craigslist. At $600, I think you can probably get a brand new grizzly delivered to your door.

+1 on the two above comments. and that jointer is almost ancient! there’s a guy who has obviously drunk the jet kool aid.

If he bought it new he paid about $400 for it about 15 years ago. if it’s in really good shape with sharp knives I think he can get $300.

I got a model G0452 6” and just love it. I got the reg. cutter. I also comes with a spiral cutter head . It Is one heavy jointer. I had to have help to get the jointer up on the base and also the motor In place.

Well then, as my good old dad would say, “to hell with that guy!” Coach I’m in central Arkansas, Hot Springs to be exact which is about an hour from Little Rock.

$250 would be my absolute top dollar. it you are willing to spend that much then I would go for a long bed 6” or an 8” from grizzly.

After checking out the Grizzly website I’ve decided to go with a new Grizz 6 inch, have it delivered and still save nearly a hundred bucks! Now I just need to start saving a little cash.

$600 for a used 6” jointer tells me the seller would rather keep it…..I see no reason to interfere with their wishes!
