I just received a message that is spam. Can this be blocked?

You can block the spammer after the fact. Unfortunately there’s not much from holding back spammers from signing on to the site.

I did block the ‘person’ grado. Just hate to see this happen here.

I got a message two weeks ago, that ”I am grado’s newest buddy”. I blocked him immediately.
That removes me from his list of buddies. Yee-Haw. I cannot tolerate one-sided relationships, and this person never messaged me, never contacted me, just remained anonymous. That’s just not right.

Glad to see my intuition was correct.

I must be popular with Grado, sent me 3 messages all the same. Or maybe this person is suggesting I am hardhead and have to have it beaten into me. They could be right….... (laughing)

I rarely get spam…but apparently Grado is in love with me. My guess is that these are not random “robo” posts and they must be looking at post volume.

I just got 2 of them from grado right now asking for my E mail address.
I don’t know if you looked at the newest Lumberjocks but they are joining every 10 minutes or faster. I think they are all phonies and I sent a note to Martin a week ago and have not heard anything. I hope those wierdos don’t ruin this site!!
With all thoes spammers and phonies, we could be flooded with fake Lumberjock e mails

Me too! So THAT is where all those 500 ‘new members’ in an hour came from… ;-)

Skanks Grado!

I also got a PM from Grado. I replied telling them where to put their spam.

-- Tom Finnigan - Measures? We don't need no stinking measures! - Hmm, maybe thats why my project pieces don't fit.

I recall another forum getting attacked like this. It wasn’t PMs though, it was just posting porn links and other such spam directly into the forums. They finally were able to get a handle on it. I’ll ask the moderators what measures they took.

We had a spammer get by our filters at school. a ‘need help’ message. One of out teachers opened it!! Usually we are smarter than that. I guess we have been spoiled here.
