I’ve got about $1500 to spend on a cabinet saw. The “Grizzly G0691” seems like a good machine. This is my first time purchasing this and am asking about your advice.

Thank You.

At that price, the G0691 and G1023RL will get the most votes. I keep forgetting the features between the two, but they’re pretty equivalent.

I’ve had the Grizzly 1023RL for about four months and have been very happy with it. I went to Springfield to compare it to the G0690 and in the end pretty much just flipped a coin on which one to buy. Either one is a good value. My advice: just order one or the other and don’t second guess yourself.

the 1023 has a newer design trunion system with dovetail ways for raising/lowering the blade. it also sports a single wide drive belt for powering the blade and a dust collection shroud directly under the blade, which has drawn mixed reviews from users. the 691 more closely resembles an original unisaw’s innards. it;s a swing arm system with 3 individual drive belts driving the blade and an older, more conventional set up for blade raising/lowering. there’s no dust collection shroud, employing, instead, a tilted pan within the cabinet to direct the dust to the 4” dust collection port on the side of the cabinet.

both are well regarded and either shiould serve most needs well. being old fashioned, i would prefer the 691 for it’s resemblance to the time tested older unisaw design.

Thank you. Everyone has been helpful. I think I am going to save $120 and buy GO691.

The 691 spec sheet says the fence is: Camlock T-Shape w/ Wraparound Rail-Mounting & HDPE Face” The 1023 fence is: Camlock T-Shape w/HDPE Face (Shop Fox Classic) 41 3/4 w/o handle. What are they talking about. This was the only difference in the comparison sheet.

Thank you to: Toolie, JamesT, and Nitewalker
