I am not too much into wood turning but I tend to save burls when I run across them. Found this cherry burl today and I have no use for it. The tree was dead standing so it has dried some. $15.00 + shipping I think I can get it into a large flat rate but I may have to shorten the stem a little.

Jimbo I am not in a big hurry to sell out a 16 year old aspiring wood worker . He did say he has the money and I sent him a PM to work out the details just have not heard anymore. I guess I will give him this week and if he does not respond it is yours. Do you have any interest in the two other pieces? I also have one that is still growing that will make about 4 of the one Matt wants. I hope to get out to the wood lot this weekend and harvest it i’m thinking about $50.00 for that one but we will see what it look like when I get it on the ground.

That sounds good Matt I have a couple of odd pieces of curly cherry I will throw in the box to help fill it up they should make some interesting spindle stock.

Matt your burl is packaged and ready to ship. I had to buzz a little bark off to get the cover to close on a LFRB I am sure I did not remove any usable wood and I think I am seeing eyes under the bark. I hope so they make a pretty turning. I included some pieces of curly cherry it is dry and should make some nice spindle stock or small boxes. Here is a picture of a similar piece of cherry. And by they way I have more if anyone is interested I” thick and cut the size of a small FRB $10.00 shipped

Lots of great wood turners here on LJ be sure to ask them if you have any questions about cutting, turning and drying your burl. A great wood turner I am not but there are plenty of them here. Oh be sure to unpack your burl outside I used pine shavings for packing material, I want you to spend your time turning not sweeping up the kitchen floor :)
