I have a Delta 46-460 lathe. I want a bed extension for it, but it will be months before I can get one from delta.

These bed extensions are pretty universal, so I was wondering if any of you know which one from another brand would work and be the cheapest and available in a week or so. I have a commission piece waiting on this tool to complete.

I have the Delta 46-700, I could not find an extension, so I bought a Jet 1220 and extension, I am not sure what the difference is between the 460 and the 700.

Check Amazon?
I got an extension for my HF lathe on there; it was a Penn State extension, but like you said, they must be pretty universal.
I’d sell you mine if you think it would work. I’m moving and don’t really need it.

As in interim or perhaps long term option, consider making an extension out of hardwood. I added a 12” extension made of oak and maple couple of years back for my Delta 46-460. Mounts to the extension bolt holes at the end of the lathe and to my lathe bench. Have been happy with results … solid, well-aligned with lathe bed, accurate turning of longer pieces. Here are a couple of pics.
