I have posted a pic of my 1940s Delta band saw a few days ago, it has this funky on/off switch that is a toggle
with a bar that runs to the top of the saw, I want to put a on/off switch in a better place and bring the saw in to the 20th century
Any one have any good recommendations for this

thanks to all as always The best site on the web

That is the original switch that came with the machine/motor.. they are becoming fairly rare in the wild and are very sought after within the OWWM crowd. I would keep it on the machine just for the cool factor.. but if you do get rid of it, I’m sure you will find lots of people willing to take it off your hands (me included!).

Cheers,
Brad

Grizzly sells after market switches that can be used. Also Amazon.

Thanks Mrunix I did not know that was OEM. I will leave it on but might plug the hole thing into a safety switch. The rod that attaches to the toggle has this metal rapped around it and a pin to hold it to the rod, any though on if they are still available any place, and what kind of metal it might be?

as always thanks to all
