Sorry to bother everyone with another craisglist question. I found this bandsaw on craigslist and was wondering if it was a good model and deal. They are asking $225 and it looks to be in good conditon. Would this be a good deal or should I pass?

Looks like the standard delta 14 inch bandsaw. The price is fair regardless, but check for condition, cracked castings, obvious signs of abuse, etc.

Does it come with a fence, upgraded guide blocks or a riser block? These items would increase the value.

How about a mobile base?

Good luck!

I would say you should check it out. 14” delta band saws in my area on CL run anywhere from $300 to over $500.

Sounds like a decent price…I’ve had a couple of these and once you get them set-up right they will serve you well plus accessories are easy to get. As said earier just check it for abuse.

It doesn’t have a fence or any other upgrades except a mobile base. It sounds like it hasn’t had much use since he bought it in 2009.

I noticed it seemed to have mixed reviews elsewhere but most of them seemed to be issues right out of the box in assembly. I kinda assume that it doesn’t have those issues but I suppose that could be the reason it didn’t get much use.

Well I just called the guy and it sold already. Seems to be the luck I’ve been having. I guess i need to start trusting my intincts and jump on what looks like a good deal. Thanks for the advice everyone.
