I was at Lowes this weekend and took a walk down the hardware aisle with the wife. She wants me to make her a jewelry holder thing like this:

Using various mix and match knobs. Fine. Anyway, we noticed there are a bunch on sale for like 97 cents each. So she is picking a selection when I noticed a bin of them for 31 cents on clearance! I dump the whole thing in the cart. Then I notice three bins of items that are not marked. there was a helper chick nearby so I asked for prices. Two of the three were 1.97. The other she could not find in the system. Eventually she goes to a manager and he says “just charge 1.99” and so I said “at two bucks I won’t buy them- but if you make them a quarter each I’ll buy the rest of them” and he said okay!

So we got about 45 nice pull knobs for about 15 bucks.

Great buy! my wife and I haunt all stores cabinet hardware sections on every trip and also the markdown paint sections,we have a nice stockpile of various knobs and handles for any future needs and a good selection of cans of paint bought at 5 bucks instead of 35 bucks a gallon. I make a lot of furniture out of recycled and markdown wood and it sure makes it cheaper to have my supplies cost pennies on the dollar.

I have hit a couple clearance items at Lowes. When they blow it out it goes cheap.
