Topic tags/keywords: slides cabinets appliance garage

Greetings folks,
I am planning on building our kitchen cabinets (European style). I have settled on the Blum Full Extension undermount for the slides.
My question is for the appliance garage. It will be 12 inches deep, so the counter in front will be about 12 as well. I would like to put in a pull out tray or shelf to put a heavy mixer on and a toaster on. I would prefer undermount so that the slides don’t show as it is in a highly visible area. My problem, and why I am reaching out to you experts, is how would I unlock it if I ever needed to? The shelf would be as close to the counter top as possible, so I don’t know how I would get my fingers underneath to unlock it.
Am I over thinking this? Is there an easier way?

Thanks in advance.

Button pull, slot, etc. What is it that you would need to lock and unlock ? You ll have approx. 2 1/8 from ctr. to to shelf bottom, right ?

That certainly clarifies it. I would vote for side guides myself. Also gets you down lower. Are you going to be using the appliance on the pulled out shelf or set it on counter to use?

I planned to use it on the shelf. (Or rather SWMBO was)
